JOB SUMMARY
KIOTI Tractor, a leader in the design and manufacture of compact tractors, utility vehicles, turf care, and compact construction equipment, is seeking an EHS Specialist to join their team onsite in Wendell, NC. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment through the development, implementation, and management of various environmental health and safety programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB
- This position coordinates the implementation and maintenance of the management systems for the environmental, health, and safety program in a multisite environment
- This position will be responsible for proposing strategies, planning implementation, providing training and monitoring implementation progress
- The successful candidate will be expected to travel between multiple locations from time-to-time to undertake site visits
- The incumbent will regularly perform safety observations, assist the location and partners, coordinate the risk management process, support the development and implementation of safe work practices, and other duties to drive the safety culture within the company
- This position facilitates the internal audit process to ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements
- Own the implementation of various EHS programs, adapt them to local needs, and build and deliver site specific procedures, training, and work instructions
- Drive the site specific EHS related activities and improve engagement in EHS programs and best practices
- Lead gap analysis process & develop action plans
- Ensure EHS regulatory compliance audits are conducted
- Support and facilitate investigations into EHS non-conformances, accidents, environmental releases, and other incidents
- Ensures documentation and follow-up of recommended preventive and corrective actions
- Report all relevant incidents to the appropriate workers compensation organizations and/or regulatory authorities and monitor the claims management process in collaboration with internal and/or external parties
- Support and facilitate Health and Safety committee initiatives
- Support cross-functional teams in the implementation, creation or modification of site-specific controls, programs, and implementation of tools to enhance compliance and performance
- Review proposed changes to equipment, materials, and work practices to identify the need for potential system modifications and make the relevant recommendation
- Build and maintain site-specific EHS reference manuals, standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Develop, maintain, and control distribution of site standards, reference manuals and materials
- Support internal and external environmental compliance reporting
- Maintain summary data and facilitate reporting on environmental important metrics
- Maintain various EHS files, databases & programs
- Review and update the hazardous materials program and site-specific training
EDUCATIONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain and Operations, or similar preferred
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing/distribution setting working in an Environmental, Health, and Safety Role
- Sound, comprehensive knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, including training development & delivery skills
- Strong computer skills and technical proficiency
- The ability to prioritize the workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Superior analytical skills with the ability to identify problems, resolve issues, mitigate risks, and initiate continuous improvements initiatives
- Prior multi-site coordination preferred
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Knowledge of Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations preferred
- Approximately 15-20% travel potential
