About the Registrar Role: The Registrar provides a range of services to address the academic needs of all KIPPsters, especially 1) to ensure all KIPP high school students are on track for on-time graduation through transcript leadership and scheduling and 2) to impact, influence, and drive GPA health for 9th & 10th grades. The essential functions may vary in intensity and demand. This role reports directly to the Assistant Principal of Operations with additional and significant collaboration with our KIPP Forward team.

GPA Health
- Work with Assistant Principal of College & Career to create and systemize regular data reporting so that, the Assistant Principal of College & Career can outline GPA health and progress monitoring
- Support campus leadership team to ensure clear, regular communication with students and families on GPA and course failures
Support Graduation Readiness
- Conduct regular audits of transcripts for 9th-12th grade students
- Audit all incoming new student transcripts to ensure accurate grade placement
- Provide Assistant Principal of College & Career with student data on students who are off track toward graduation
- Support in preparing for Progress to Graduation meeting biannually (fall and spring and additionally as needed) by providing all appropriate and accurate data
- Support the Assistant Principal of Operations and Assistant Principal of College & Career to ensure clear, regular communication with students and families on progress to graduation
Scheduling and Course Selection
- In collaboration with Assistant Principal of Operations support actualization of schedules based on course progression and credit progress
- Ensure that Infinite Campus courses and schedules are accurate and aligned to course progression for all students, inclusive of credit recovery considerations (see below)
Support Credit Recovery Systems
- Maintain robust tracking systems that identify student credit gaps
- Collaborate with the Assistant Principal of Operations and Assistant Principal of College & Career on plan for student opportunities for credit maintenance (i.e. Saturday School, Senior School, Summer School)
Oversee and Manage Grading Systems
- In alignment with Assistant Principals of Instruction, work to coordinate Infinite Campus Gradebooks and ensure Gradebooks are accurate and maintained aligned to KIPP Colorado Grading Policies.
- Monitor Gradebook health and provide weekly updates on gradebook audits
- Support PD to staff to build readiness and investment in GPA systems and grading systems
- Ensure gradebook accuracy at the end of semester and confirm accuracy in grades rolling to transcripts in alignment with DPS
Post-Secondary Readiness and Success
- Support onboarding of Freshmen during 8/9 transition, with specific attention to students coming from non-KIPP middle schools (in other grades as well)
Enrollment and Attendance
- Leads execution of Student Recruitment and Enrollment processes to include: DPS Choice and Enrollment, Administrative Transfers, Mid Year Enrollments, Intent to Enroll and Registration processes
- Ensure enrollment procedures are followed in alignment with Denver Public Schools and KIPP Colorado
- Serves as MLE secretary for the campus and ensures compliance with all MLE requirements in alignment with the campus MLE administrator
- Support attendance work to include attendance calls and interventions as they pertain to progress to graduation
- Support onboarding of all new students aligned to progress to graduation and credit accrual
- Ensure all incoming students have accurate and complete transcripts
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in active presence and strategic supervision and monitoring to ensure student safety and engagement in rigorous learning
- Partner with the Assistant Principal of Special Services and Special Education Teachers to ensure proper implementation of 504s, BIPs, IEPs, safety plans, accommodations, modification, and language support for students
- Enforce positive behavior systems and monitor behavior data
- Attend designated school functions outside of school hours (Back to School Night, Report Card Conferences, Community Events, etc.)
- Perform necessary support duties including (but not limited to) bus, lunch, and dismissal duties,chaperone field trips. Participate in parent meetings, conferences, and periodic evening events
- Develop strong relationships with the families of students through home visits, participation in school events and phone calls home
- Communicate regularly with families about academic progress and behavior
- Participate in daily duties (i.e. breakfast, lunch, dismissal) to support school operations
- Maintain accurate records, grade books, and data tracking systems
- Assist with both student and staff recruitment
