POSITION SUMMARY
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks to hire a Behavior Interventionist at KIPP Impact Academy. The BI will partner closely with the school's existing ISS Coordinator to ensure the school community is invested in a vision of positive student culture. The BI will respond to any behavior support requests from classroom teachers and work through restorative practices with the intention of a student meeting classroom/school expectations and returning to class. The BI partners with the school leadership team, classroom teachers, counselors, and learning specialists to document and track behavior data and help create behavior intervention plans for students with severe behaviors. The BI will share parent contact and administrative duties with the ISS Coordinator.

- KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade
- K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm, K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 student dismissal is at 1:30pm
- High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School student dismissal is at 12:30pm.

- This role is only available at KIPP Impact Academy (7000 103rd Street) and will begin in July 2025.
- Responding to classroom teachers when a student has moved outside of classroom consequence systems
- Creating and supporting behavior intervention plans for students with severe behaviors on their caseload
- Monitoring and tracking referral data for students
- Support existing behavior intervention plans (daily check-ins with students, family communication and/or meetings, check-ins with staff members)
- Partnering with the ISS Coordinator to monitor students’ academic progress continues outside of the classroom during times where intervention or time out of the classroom is warranted
- Ensure reflection meetings with students on the caseload are positive with clear next steps for the student
- Lead and support professional development on restorative practices and help support practice clinics
- Partnering with other staff members to ensure families have access to a variety of resources in and out of our school community
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay for this position is salaried at $45,000.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year in an urban education setting as a full-time professional with evidence of working with students in small groups or whole groups.
- Associate’s degree or at least 60 hours of continuing education documented

- Passing a background check, as required by law.
- Experience with implementing restorative practices in a school setting
- Experience working in an urban public school or charter school setting (i.e. a paraprofessional, a substitute, ISS Coordinator, or a similar role)
- Experience working with students at the K-8 grade levels
- Bachelor’s Degree
