Job Overview
KIPP Atlanta Schools is seeking dedicated Reading Tutors to enhance the reading and writing skills of scholars across various grade levels by providing daily direct instruction throughout the academic year. Reading Tutors will enhance their content knowledge, master instructional skills, and teaching best practices grounded in research by completing a paid Science of Reading program certification. Currently, we are seeking full-time tutors available during school hours. Specific hours to be determined. Reading Tutors will play a crucial role in implementing effective reading instructional strategies, providing individualized support, and collaborating with educators to promote a culture of literacy within the school community.
Job Responsibilities:
Instruction and Support
● Provide direct instruction to scholars in reading and writing, including small group and one-on-one sessions
● Support teachers with assessing scholars’ literacy levels and identify areas for improvement
● Offer targeted interventions and support to struggling readers and writers
Professional Development
● Engage in foundational literacy development programming to learn and strengthen strategies for teaching reading
● Stay current with research and trends in literacy education and integrate new findings into practice
Collaboration and Communication
● Work closely with classroom teachers, school administrators, and parents to support scholar literacy development
● Participate in school-wide initiatives related to literacy
● Maintain clear and open communication with stakeholders regarding scholar progress and literacy initiatives

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation for this role is determined based on the KIPP Atlanta Schools Hourly Pay Scale. KIPP Atlanta Schools offers a competitive benefits package that includes:
