WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform leadership and management responsibilities for a talented team of software engineers at a variety of points in their career
- Lead one or more software delivery teams
- Be an agile practitioner and help advance the state of Agile at Kipsu
- Plan, estimate and manage software development projects
- Be a member of the application delivery leadership team and participate in strategic and quarterly goal planning, tracking, and execution
- Think intentionally about what makes an inclusive, positive, and productive Engineering culture and work as part of a leadership team within Engineering to reinforce, reassess, and improve how we operate as a team
- Foster an environment of critical thinking and constructive collaboration; assist engineers with breaking down work and helping identify avenues to meet critical deadlines
- Provide review, advice and mentoring to team members regularly
- Collect, monitor and present key performance metrics within software delivery to ensure that we are achieving our goals
- Identify deficiencies in the development processes and support activities to improve them
- Be a point person for regular updates and communication to relevant stakeholders on a portfolio of projects, managing expectations and keeping our customer facing team up-to-date on developments and changes
- Help us increase our delivery predictability through improved systems for estimating and forecasting project delivery
- Help surface and manage trade-off decisions as we manage our work demands
- Assess software engineer performance, conduct regular 1 : 1s and provide feedback
