Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support. Your role will involve a combination of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility.
Duties:
- Perform basic medical procedures, such as taking vital signs, administering medication, and collecting specimens
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Prepare patients for appointments by obtaining medical history and relevant information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health record systems
- Provide patient education on various health topics and assist with discharge instructions
- Perform medical administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, preparing charts in advance of appointment for the healthcare provider, and coordinating referrals
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Ideal candidate is culturally competent, highly motivated, self-directed, and a team player with excellent customer service skills.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic life support techniques
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical administrative support
- Ability to accurately take vital signs and perform basic medical procedures
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
