Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure cleanliness of the job site
- Support Journeyman Laborer in tasks as needed
- Participate in Northwest College of Construction's Apprenticeship program
- The following will be learned on the job:
- Prepare the building foundation layout
- Form and pour concrete foundations for walls and footings
- Work with materials such as wood, plastic, steel, or concrete
- Utilize hand and power tools and work in accordance with company and OSHA safety best practices
- Frame floors, walls and roof structures
- Perform rough carpentry, install doors/frames & hardware, and windows
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts. Proper company certification is provided and required
- Work on elevated platforms, such as ladders and scaffolding
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations to minimize risk of workplace accidents
- Report any unsafe workplace conditions or unsafe acts by others to management immediately
- High school diploma or GED certification
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to travel to jobsites
- Must have physical strength and manual dexterity, including hand/eye coordination, to manage all materials and tasks as required per job
