Overview
The Director of Environmental Services is a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and sanitation of facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all staff, patients, and visitors, particularly in hospital and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of custodial practices, environmental services standards, and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cleaning protocols to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation across all facilities.
• Supervise and train custodial staff to ensure effective performance in cleaning tasks and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to assess cleanliness levels and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability while adhering to budget constraints.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules that minimize disruption to operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations related to environmental services and workplace safety.
• Address any issues or concerns related to cleanliness or sanitation promptly and effectively.

Skills

Experience and understanding of state regulatory requirements related to Licensed Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of custodial practices, environmental services, and commercial cleaning techniques.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and the ability to implement safety protocols effectively.
• Proficiency in floor care techniques, including maintenance of various flooring types.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff at all levels within the organization.
