What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator Level I position at Kirby Risk?
Production Operator Level I Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):
Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
Loads, unloads, checks and packs parts.
Follows and maintains KRPM to internal safety standards and OSHA compliance.
Follows ISO 9000/QS 9000 procedures.
Follows all KRPM procedures for operation and inspection.
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to Production Supervisor.
Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts
Performs but not limited to the following tasks: milling turning drilling, tapping, de-burring, molding and all bench operations and inspect.
Interprets and implements packing and cleaning parts specifications.
Communicates with co-workers and supervisors to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
Inspects and measures parts using gauges, calipers and micrometers to ensure conformance to print specifications, and compile statistical process control charts.
Cleans machines, tooling, and performs routine machine maintenance.
Verifies all gauging, micrometers, and determines if measuring tool(s) are within tolerance limits.
Operates hand jacks, overhead air hoists and air or electrically powered hand tools.
Follows company policies and procedures.
Sustains housekeeping standards in accordance with KRPM appearance guidelines.

Education/Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
Industrial experience is preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow written instructions
Attention to detail
Ability to perform in house verification calibrations when designated**
Math/blue print reading classes or equivalent course work
Computer/printer
CNC Machine
Hand tools (air & electric)
Micrometers
Calipers
Pallet jack, hand truck
All equipment related to area
** Documented training required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and work with arms at or above shoulder height for extended periods of time
Occasionally use hands to operate standard equipment, squeeze, pinch, and reach with hands and arms.
Employees are frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Bend, stoop, reach and shift positions frequently.
Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
