Parts Manager Position Purpose
The Parts Manager manages all overall responsibilities concerning the parts department by using sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue, create lifetime relationships, improve customer satisfaction and profitability, deliver consistent results, and be an indispensable resource.
Parts Manager Essential Functions
Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One GoalActively monitors and oversees safety processes and procedures and promotes the safety of all parts of employees. Initiate measures as necessary to ensure maximum safety of parts employeesSupervises parts counter sales associates to include hiring, coaching, and continuous trainingSupervises warehouse operations through the warehouse manager and ensures shipping and receiving operations are operating at optimum levelsIdentifies and resolves all issues in the parts department and ensures achievement of short- and long-term objectives to maximize department efficiencyEncourages and promotes continuous employee and customer satisfaction to achieve unparalleled customer serviceEnsures all vendor invoices are processed promptly, as well as parts and core returns are processed, and invoices are credited efficientlyMaintains a good understanding of all product lines supportedUnderstands how to efficiently use parts reference materials, such as microfiche, manuals, and internet websitesManages and maintains accurate parts inventory to include purchasing and expediting, and ensures inventory cycle counts are completed on time and according to policiesImplements plans to reduce freight expenses and critical fees and ensure recoveryConsistent and reliable on-site attendancePerforms other duties as assignedParts Manager Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalentFive (5) years of management experience within the heavy equipment industry or related preferredUnderstanding of financial reporting principles, pricing principles, discounting effects, and inventory control theoryWorking knowledge of warehouse storage layout principles, as well as product knowledge, including features and benefits knowledge of all commodities soldParts Manager Physical Requirements
