Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance Position Purpose
The Preventative Maintenance Field Service Technician operates a mobile service vehicle and travels to customer locations to perform in-field preventative maintenance services and minor repairs. They will perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible per specified guidelines
Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance Essential Functions
- Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
- Performs preventative maintenance services on equipment as assigned ex. lubrication/greasing and checking fluid levels as needed
- Performs minor repairs, ex. leaking hoses
- Assists in loading and unloading equipment
- Washes units before delivery when directed.
- Cleans shop area as directed
- Maintains service truck in good working condition and cleanliness
- Completes daily, monthly, and annual safety and vehicle inspections
- Follows all safety rules and policies at all times
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Consistent and reliable on-site attendance
Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year experience in heavy equipment environment or related field
- Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge
- Able to speak, read, and write the English language well enough to follow written instructions and to report to supervisor and others in writing and verbally.
- Must have self-provided basic tools
- Ability for off-hour work, including spending nights out
- Class B CDL Preferred
Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance Physical Requirements
- Pushes/Pulls/Lifts/Carries up to 100 pounds without assistance
- Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
- Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors
- Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours of time with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workday
- Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition
