The Field Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance operates a mobile service vehicle and travels to customer locations to perform in-field preventative maintenance services and minor repairs. They will perform quality work as efficiently and effectively as possible according to the specified guidelines.
Field Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance Essential Functions
Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One GoalPerforms preventative maintenance services on equipment as assigned, for example, lubricating / greasing and checking fluid levels as neededPlans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairsKeeps rework within established guidelinesNotifies the Manager of any additional work required on the unitContributes to departmental and product line goalsCompletes required paperwork efficiently and timelyAttends factory and other training as specified by supervisorPromotes goodwill and exhibits excellent customer relation behaviors with customers, managers, and coworkersMaintains service truck in good working condition and cleanlinessCompletes daily, monthly, and annual safety and vehicle inspectionsModels safe work habits and always abides by company safety policies and proceduresOrganizes, cleans, and maintains a safe work areaPerforms other job-related duties as assignedConsistent and reliable on-site attendanceField Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of experience in the heavy equipment environment or related fieldDemonstrated basic mechanical knowledgeAbility to speak, read, and write in English the English language well enough to follow written instructions and to report to supervisor and others verbally and in writingMust own basic toolsAbility to work after hours and overnightClass B CDL PreferredField Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance Physical Requirements
Pushes / Pulls / Lifts / Carries up to 75 pounds without assistancePhysical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overheadMust be able to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes / odors associated with the shop / fieldAbility to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional conditionThis is considered a Safety-Sensitive position.
