Job Title: Cell Operator
Location: Waverly, OH
The ideal candidate will set up and operate assembly equipment as assigned, following work instructions outlined in the Standard Operation Sheet (SOS) and Job Element Sheet (JES). They will also load/unload parts in/out of welders, dies, trunions, and/or assembly fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment that welds, stamps, presses, crimps, stakes, and/or rivets together parts and/or sub-assemblies.
- Perform manual assembly, welding, and tapping operations as required.
- Ensure quality and quantities of parts produced to meet required quality specifications and production rates.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform light, routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for filling out necessary paperwork associated with the job, including start-up checklists, pre-shift inspection sheets, labor tickets, scrap records, downtime tracking sheets, quality assurance checks, and product identification tags. They will also be expected to contribute to a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment by applying the principles of the 5S discipline.
Requirements:
- No minimum experience is required.
- Ability to read and demonstrate understanding of documents such as safety rules, work instructions, maintenance instructions, employee handbook, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to apply basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and sound judgment to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Must be able to interact effectively with employees at all levels in a team environment.
Physical Abilities:
- Ability to use hands to grip, finger, handle, and/or feel parts.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves, protective sleeves, safety glasses with side shields, and steel-toed shoes.
- Ability to use hands, arms, and wrists to work continuously throughout shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and write.
