Duties
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Supervise and train service staff, including mechanics and service writers, to enhance their skills and performance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Oversee the scheduling of repairs and maintenance services to optimize shop efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales teams to promote services and drive revenue growth.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the service area.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies to ensure availability for repairs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members to foster professional development.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive service management or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair, brake repair, auto body repair, or general automotive repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
- Proficiency in sales techniques related to automotive services is a plus.
- Familiarity with service writing processes and software is desirable.
