An established law firm serving the California Central Coast is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with a minimum of three years in the legal field; additional experience is highly preferred. The compensation range is $73,000 to $140,000, DOE, and including potential performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth legal research using Westlaw and other tools to support case preparation, strategy development, and court submissions. Identify relevant statutes, case law, and legal precedents to inform legal advice and strategies.
- Document Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and revise legal documents, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with accuracy, attention to detail, and legal clarity.
- Case Management: Manage a varied caseload, focusing on estate planning, business and real estate, and transaction and general civil litigation. Ensure all case files are maintained, updated, and compliant with firm standards.
- Client Representation and Advocacy: Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and settlements, working to secure favorable outcomes while maintaining professional relationships with opposing parties and court personnel.
- Client Communication and Guidance: Maintain regular communication with clients to update them on case progress, answer questions, and provide legal guidance throughout their case journey.
- Collaboration and Team Support: Work closely with senior attorneys, providing assistance with case strategy, research, and document preparation. Offer administrative and case support as needed to ensure smooth operation and client satisfaction.
- Court Filings and Appearances: Prepare documents for court filing and participate in hearings as necessary, ensuring all submissions meet procedural requirements and deadlines.
- Professional Development: Stay informed on legal developments relevant to the firm’s practice areas. Engage in continuing legal education to enhance skills and maintain licensure.
