Photography Intern

Overview

The Photography Intern is responsible for assisting the Photography team in ecommerce product photography and lifestyle photos that show an accurate representation of Kirkland’s product.  Images are to be utilized across all channels. This role will apply their technical, creative and composition skills to help deliver compelling, consistent, and quality brand assets.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting photography team in setting up required photo sets
• Shoots silo and occasionally lifestyle vignettes under direction and guidance of team
• Process images – crop, clip, color correct, manipulation, resizing, etc. in Photoshop, maintaining quality control and adhering to standardized processes within the photo studio.
• Name and efficiently organize all final images for easy retrieval.
• Help the Sample manager with product flow by managing and organizing the samples workflow in staging/return area
• Participates in creative concept meetings.
• Assists in keeping all studio equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and props clean, organized.
• Prep for location photo shoots as needed.
• Demonstrates a commitment to Kirkland's Values
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Helps maintain and clean photo studio as needed

Qualifications

• Proven use of creativity with an eye for product styling, lighting and composition
• Eager to learn, follow direction, and collaborate with various departments within the company.
•  Manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills; both verbal and written
• Detail oriented, flexible, resourceful with a can-do attitude and positive disposition.
• Strong organizational skills while paying close attention to details.
• Working knowledge of photography equipment and editing software; Photoshop and Lightroom.
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Required: Experience in Digital Photography, Art, or Design communications or related field
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs
