Customer Service Representative

Kirkpatrick Concrete in Birmingham, Alabama, is adding a full-time CSR position to our current logistics office. This position was originally added to expand our current logistics department and enables us to provide better customer service.

Kirkpatrick has the distinction of being the oldest ready mix concrete producer in Birmingham. We've built most of the Birmingham area and are continuing to provide the necessary materials to help Birmingham keep growing. Kirkpatrick Concrete is part of the ConcreteSouth family of building materials companies.

The CSR will work from our divisional office at 2909 3rd Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35202.

Responsibilities and Duties

· You will spend the majority of your time on the phone and computer while talking to customers.

· Answer inbound calls for new orders and order updates.

· Call customers when we need more information or to proactively deal with a problem.

· Process prepaid orders.

· Work with our internal sales team to modify projects as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

We can teach you everything you need to know about ready mix concrete, logistics, and our customers. However, we can't teach a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn. These characteristics are critical to our continued success. We are not a match for you unless you have these characteristics.

Required Skills

· Reading and writing on at least a 10th-grade level

· Typing a minimum of 35 words per minute

· Experience working on a PC

· Willingness to sit for long periods

· Willingness to work overtime

· Technical knowledge of ready-mix concrete (training provided)

· Product knowledge of Kirkpatrick's offerings (training provided)

Minimum Requirements

· Must be 18 or older

· High school diploma/GED

· Pass a drug test
