Production Manager

Production Manager – Northern Division

Kirkpatrick Concrete in Albertville, Alabama, is hiring a Full Time Production Manager our Northern Alabama locations.

Kirkpatrick has the distinction of being the oldest ready mix concrete producer in north Alabama. Kirkpatrick Concrete is part of the ConcreteSouth family of building materials companies.

The Production Manager will be based at our divisional office in Albertville, Alabama and will report to the Northern Division’s Operations Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Safety
• Help maintain a safe work environment at our production facilities and with our commercial vehicles.
• Become OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certified.
• Fleet – Personnel and Commercial Vehicles
• Help with recruiting, training, and retaining drivers.
• Become certified in the Smith System for driver safety.
• Use this as the foundation for driver training.
• Work with plant managers and the shop manager to inspect commercial vehicles.
• Maintain our driver load bonus program.
• Production Facilities
• Focus on gate-to-gate plant efficiency.
• Perform maintenance inspections of our production facilities.
• Ensure the efficient operation of our production facilities through trend reporting, creating standardized procedures, and teaching new processes.
• Batch when needed to fill in for absent plant managers.
• Maintain positive working relationships with all employees, vendors, and customers.
• Willingness to assist the Operations Manager with special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

We can teach you everything you need to know about ready mix concrete, logistics, and our customers. However, we cannot teach a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn. These characteristics are critical to our continued success. We are not a match for you unless you have these characteristics.

Required Skills

· Typing a minimum of thirty-five words per minute.

· Experience using Excel and Microsoft Teams.

· Willingness to work overtime.

· Technical knowledge of ready-mix concrete (training provided)

· Product knowledge of Kirkpatrick's offerings (training provided).

· Experience with Command Alkon and/or Jonel batch control systems.

· Ability to lift fifty pounds.

· Ability to climb silo ladders with heights exceeding 90-feet.

· Must pass/maintain your ACI Level 1 certification.

· Must maintain a Class B CDL without restriction.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be eighteen or older.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Pass a drug test.
