Certified Billing and Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Certified Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team in Longview, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently coding patient medical records, submitting claims, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will play a crucial role in our revenue cycle management and contribute to the smooth operation of our practice.Responsibilities:

• Accurately code patient medical records according to industry standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Review and analyze patient medical records for coding accuracy.
• Submit claims to insurance companies electronically and via paper.
• Track and follow up on submitted claims to ensure timely payment.
• Address and resolve billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
• Contribute to the improvement of billing and coding processes.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate and organized records.

Qualifications:

• Required:
• Current certification as a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (e.g., CPC, CPB, CPT, CHCP).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred:
• Experience in a multi-specialty medical practice.
• Experience with specific EHR systems used in our practice.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle management principles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
