Kirtland Community College is looking for an organized and motivated individual with experience in a health care setting to provide programmatic, administrative, and clerical support for Health Sciences programs under the direction of the Director of Nursing. The primary responsibilities of this position include providing administrative support for the planning, organizing, and development of the Health Science programs.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*Assists the Health Science Directors in coordinating the admission process for prospective students in each of the departments. Assists Health Science Directors with placement of students into clinical sites by preparing and maintaining affiliation agreements to ensure compliance; verifying instructor and student background screenings, drug screening and immunization record as applicable.Registers Health Science Students for courses. Coordinates, attends, and provides support for Health Science program events such as student orientations, advisory board meetings, adjunct faculty meetings, career fairs, conferences, pinning ceremonies or any other events hosted by Health Science programs and as approved by the Director. Organizes, coordinates and communicates end of program licensure documentation for graduating students. Prepares/processes graduation certificates for the Board of Nursing. Provides graduation information as needed to accrediting bodies for the programs.Assists with record keeping, data processing required for program evaluation, students’ assessment and reports for accreditation agencies and boards.Maintains databases and various electronic and hard files. Assists with monitoring classroom/laboratory and office supplies. Requests purchase orders, submits requisitions, places and tracks orders, then distributes and/or restocks items upon delivery. Interacts with students, staff, and faculty and outside contacts to provide information, solve problems, respond to requests; functions as liaison between the dean/director, faculty, students and staff. Supervises student workers in the department.Performs other related tasks as required.

SUPERVISION – Works under the general supervision of the Director of NursingATTENDANCE– Individuals in this position are generally expected to be available during the regular business hours of the college, and may occasionally be asked to assist into early evening for registrations and other specific circumstances.WORKING CONDITIONS – Conditions are those of a typical office environment, requiring frequent oral and written communication with students, staff, faculty, and offsite clinical personnel, and the ability to enter and retrieve data and written communications in electronic format in a timely manner.Kirtland Community College is an equal opportunity employer
