Job Description
The Director of Nursing at The Cardinal at North Hills is an RN who is responsible for the overall supervision of nursing care in the Skilled Nursing facility. This role is also responsible for promoting compliance with regulations and guidelines.
Essential Job Duties:
Supervises direct nursing care in the Skilled Nursing
Administers direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.
Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans and conference in the absence of the MDS nurse.
Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
Assists with orientation and training of nursing personnel.
Participates in family/resident counseling.
Responds to emergency calls as necessary.
Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident care
Some “on call” is required including weekends on call rotation
Other duties as needed
Education/Experience/Training:
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a nursing leadership role
Experience in a nursing leadership role in a short-term skilled nursing setting preferred.
Experience working with the senior population preferred.
Experienced working with Microsoft Office and with operational software programs.
Special Requirements/Certifications:
Valid CPR Certification.
RN license required
