What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Kismet Recruiting Group?
Kismet client, Avalon Holdings Corporation, provides waste management services to industrial, commercial, municipal, and governmental customers in selected northeastern and midwestern U.S. markets. Avalon Holdings Corporation also owns the Avalon Golf and Country Club, which operates a world-class country club and one of the premier resorts in the United States, The Grand Resort.
The ideal candidate will need to have a dedicated work ethic, the ability to multitask while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment and have a strong attention to detail.
Job Duties:
- Assist with the financial reporting process
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting
- Analyze general ledger accounts and prepare detailed notes to the financials each month
- Review and reconcile large volumes of data
- Investigate and correct any discrepancies
- Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Inventory analysis and improvement skill a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Great Plains, a plus
- Onsite in Warren, OH
