What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at Kistler Group?
Join Kistler – A Global Leader in Measurement Technology!
At Kistler, we’re revolutionizing industries with our cutting-edge dynamic measurement technology, helping customers optimize products and processes. From automobile development to smart factories, our Swiss-designed sensor solutions are driving the future of electrified drive technology, industrial automation, and emission reduction.
About the Role: As a key player in the Project and Repairs team, the Electrical Project Coordinator will be instrumental in delivering exceptional project management and service, primarily for our Infrastructure business and secondarily for other business units. This role offers plenty of action, with regular customer site visits for technical discussions and hands-on support for installations, inspections, and calibrations. You'll be right in the mix, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Pre-Sales Phase – Project Planning & Management:
- Lead the charge on planning, executing, and commissioning strategic customer projects – working closely with Sales, Service, and Customers to design technical solutions tailored to their needs.
- Whip up winning project proposals with cost breakdowns, technical specs, and CAD layouts, all while managing supplier quotes and testing feasibility.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, driving repeat business and supporting growth, while finalizing projects through site inspections and meetings.
Deployment Phase:
- Be the primary point of contact for customer support, troubleshooting, and technical coordination during system pilots and commercial projects, ensuring everything’s delivered on time and within budget.
- Team up with internal squads to optimize service operations, monitor project budgets and timelines, and deliver top-notch results during on-site activities like testing, installation, and calibration.
- Oversee material procurement, manage customer orders and contracts in SAP, and contribute to growing service revenue through smooth, high-performance operations.
After-Sales Phase – Customer Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide engineering support and jump in for high-priority service demands or warranty cases, keeping systems running at their best.
- Take charge of technical interventions, propose maintenance contracts, and ensure all safety docs are in place for qualified staff interventions at customer sites.
- Spot new service opportunities, pass them to the sales team, and keep project docs and training materials up to date – the innovation never stops!
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, Automation, or similar).
- At least 2 years of experience in technical project management (bonus points if it’s with large-scale projects in transportation or construction!).
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with electrical engineering and measurement technologies.
- Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate with confidence.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and open to traveling 20-30% domestically (driver’s license required!).
