Description
Administers treatments and physical agents in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Provide offsite community educations, screenings and taping. Administers physical therapy services including: evaluation, examination, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention and outcomes as outlined by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and the Guide to P.T. Practice.1 Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Coordinate delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (PTA, COTA, etc.).
Qualifications
Colorado State Physical Therapy Licensure, graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or graduate of accredited college or university. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred. Current BCLS (CPR) certification. Experience in more than two (2) aspects of physical therapy. Including: Geriatric, diatric, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedic, Neurology, Sports, Oncology, and Women Research. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred. Strong written and verbal skills. Intermediate to advanced computer skills required. Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of physical therapy machine operation. Valid state driver’s license and reliable automobile, current automobile insurance and willing to operate personal car necessitated by nature of job. Effective 2014, physical therapist shall maintain and demonstrate continuing professional competency as defined in 4 CCR 732-1 Section 213
