Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Substitute / Fill-in Childcare Worker to create a safe and engaging environment for children. This role involves working with children of various ages, providing care, supervision, and educational activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social growth. Our Substitute Childcare Workers assist while permanent employees are on vacation or out with an illness.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
- Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their needs are met throughout the day.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom setting conducive to learning.
- Communicate with parents about children's progress and any concerns.
- Administer first aid as needed and ensure the health and safety of all children in care.
- Collaborate with other childcare staff to create a supportive team environment.
Skills
- Strong behavior management skills to foster positive interactions among children.
- Experience in a classroom or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Proficient in caregiving techniques that ensure children's well-being.
- First aid certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- Experience working with students in various capacities, including babysitting or tutoring.
