WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF A LEATHER SEWIST AT KITCHEN KETTLE VILLAGE?
The Burnley Enterprises Leather Sewist ensures the company’s success by manufacturing Deerskin Leather Brand products. They are responsible for sewing, gluing, installing hardware, embossing, and evaluating the finished product for quality control. They will work with leather, nylon, and metal materials to create handbags, wallets, jewelry, and other small goods per the designs of Deerskin Leather’s brand. They are responsible for communicating with the owner, manufacturing manager, and supplier of materials with regards to manufacturing Deerskin Leather brand products. They are responsible for interacting with customers when on the sales floor making our products. They are responsible for interacting with the Deerskin Leather sales team and the inventory team about repairs, special orders, and inventory management of Deerskin Leather brand products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manufacturing product
- Communicating with owner, buyer, and supplier
- Interacting with customers on the sales floor during regular sales shifts or during Meet the Maker events.
- Interacting with the Deerskin Leather team and Inventory team

COMPETENCIES:
- Prior leather / heavy material sewing experience
- Experience with single needle sewing machines
- Experience with double needle sewing machines
- Experience with riveting: hand or machine
- Experience with an embossing machine
- Results driven
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Coachability
Monday through Saturday availability.
20-25 hours per week
