Demolition position

Kitchen Mart is currently hiring an applicant who has a minimum of 2 years kitchen and bathroom demolition knowledge and experience.

You will remove existing items or material prior to project and prepare area for crew to complete remodel.

Your duties and responsibilities will include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensures entire work area is protected according to the material (tile, hardwood, etc.) and the customer's belongings are removed or protected.*
• Removes delicate material such as glass or mirrors to ensure a quick process and less risk of creating more debris.*
• Cleans up area prior to next work crew coming in.*
• Turns in any customer payments received and receipts for materials or other work expenses to appropriate parties.*
• Assists other departments as needed.*
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.*

Applicant has the ability to:

• read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• write simple correspondence and able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• deal with problems involving several variables in residential demolition and remodel situations.
• knowledge of ability to utilize cell phone apps for timekeeping and job reports.

Applicant must

• have a valid California driver's license with good driving record.
• Be able to use hand tools (hammer, drill, saw, roto-hammer, sledge hammer, etc.) and occasionally use a jack hammer.
• Capable of oral communication
• Good with time management
• Have good customer service
• Be able to work both independently and as a member of the team

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
