The Role You will be responsible for supporting Kite’s strategy for Diversity & Inclusion in clinical trials in partnership with the multi-year vision for clinical trial diversity and representation. This strategy includes building and nurturing community and advocacy relationships, building awareness internally and externally, driving health literacy, designing diversity into programs and studies, enabling clinical trial patient participation, and improving clinical trial participant outcomes. This role will transform the success of participation and retention of diverse populations that are representative of the global epidemiology of the disease states where we are pursuing treatment, and curative therapies. Collaboration across key development and functional areas is critical (e.g., Real World Evidence, Clinical Operations, Clinical Data Science, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Public Affairs). You will be accountable for leading, implementing, and monitoring diversity plans for assigned clinical trials. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Support the development and execution of Diversity & Inclusion in Clinical Trials (DICT) strategies, core processes, and best practices across clinical trials Partner with the clinical study teams to support the development and implementation of study Diversity Plans aligned with FDA/Local Health Authority guidance Partner with clinical study teams to identify and develop process improvements to increase recruitment, enrollment, and retention of clinical trial participants from diverse populations Maintain metrics tracking and utilize the DICT dashboard across studies to track the progress of diversity plan implementation Monitor the status of diversity targets for assigned clinical trials and identify mitigations when the trial is off plan Manage diversity-centered vendors to ensure adherence to the scope of work and compliance to sponsor regulation Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience - OR - Master’s degree and 6 years of experience Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor or higher degree in Life Sciences, Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Data Science, or related field Experience leading cross-functional teams Knowledge of drug development and Phase I-IV clinical trials Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, including project management of multiple time-sensitive projects Ability to communicate complex topics in simple terms to a variety of internal and external stakeholders that is succinctly tied to the overall strategy for Diversity & Inclusion in Clinical Trials Ability to effectively collaborate across a diverse, global, highly matrixed team environment Thorough knowledge of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMA), and other applicable national regulations, International Council for Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) guidelines, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) governing the conduct of clinical studies Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment Experience with database and dashboard development and analytical visualization tools and software (i.e. tableau, Smartsheet) Excellent English language fluency including verbal and written communication skills, with a track record for effectively communicating scientific, medical, and organizational concepts Only candidates who apply via www.kitepharma.com/careers/careers-at-kite will be considered. The salary range for this position is: $146,200.00 - $189,200.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
