Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Crisis Stabilization Specialist to provide leadership and clinical oversight at our Crisis Triage Center (CTC). This role ensures high-quality therapeutic care for adults in crisis while supervising case managers, certified peer counselors, and behavioral health technicians during their shifts. This position collaborates closely with CTC leadership, internal departments, and external referral agencies to maintain the smooth operation of the unit and the delivery of exceptional client care. Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete intake assessments and develop individualized Crisis Stabilization Plans based on client history and collateral information.
• Collaborate with CTC case managers, peer counselors, and external providers to coordinate treatment, assess risks, and determine the need for a higher level of care.
• Act as an advocate for clients' psychiatric and social needs while ensuring a cohesive treatment approach with outpatient providers and medical teams.
• Provide short-term therapeutic interventions, including crisis intervention, brief therapy, and group therapy, as needed.
• Oversee the development of discharge care plans, ensuring clients have appropriate follow-up appointments, referrals, and safety planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation to comply with agency, regulatory, and funding requirements.
• Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, providing clinical consultation and evidence-based guidance to staff.
• Monitor and ensure client and staff safety, implementing interventions as necessary.
• Review and contribute to CTC policies and procedures to enhance program operations.
• Model trauma-informed care and professionalism while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and complete all required training.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field or must meet waiver criteria of RCW 71.24.260.

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

Two years of postgraduate, documented, supervised clinical experience with the chronically mentally ill, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse, substance related disorders, and emotionally disturbed clients.

LICENSURE: Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in RCW 71.05.020.

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, substance abuse treatment, and experience in therapeutic residential treatment setting.

Experience with the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and co-occurring substance use disorders
