The Paraprofessional provides ongoing supervision and therapeutic support for consumers enrolled in the Day Treatment Program.

- Assist other program staff in providing a positive, structured, and therapeutic milieu in which the emotional, developmental, and educational needs of the students can be met. Work closely with other team members to maintain an aesthetically pleasing and therapeutic environment.
- Provide direct observation of students within the milieu. Participate in 1:1 intervention in order to encourage the student’s compliance with program expectations, and to identify and process barriers to successful completion of program expectations. Assist students in dealing with conflict, expressing themselves appropriately, and improving their behavior.
- Provide immediate, therapeutic crisis interventions as necessary.
- Work with the team to implement behavioral programs and intervention plans. Provide input into daily and weekly student summaries and level rating forms.
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support other school programs as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: Entry level (1 year of prior experience working with children)
This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must meet agency driving requirements, including meeting the minimum age requirement of 21 years old, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation.Valid Washington Food Handler card.
LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration
Per the RCW 28A.400.303, employees of contractors with school districts that “have regularly scheduled unsupervised access to children” are required to go through FBI fingerprinting.
Madrona requires a Food Handler’s Permit, preferred for Sequoia Program and Restorative School.
