Full-Time Quality Assurance Specialist
Hiring Range: $26.89 – $33.61 Per Hour

Kitsap Mental Health Services is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist to play a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services. You will evaluate clinical performance, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and collaborate on developing effective strategies to enhance clinical processes and documentation. This position offers the opportunity to influence agency growth and improve outcomes through data-driven decision-making and collaborative efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Director to develop frameworks, processes, and tracking systems to evaluate and improve clinical processes and documentation.
- Monitor key performance indicators and work with departments to implement course corrections as needed.
- Partner with the Clinical Documentation Trainer to create and deliver individual, team, or agency-wide training based on review findings.
- Develop and manage an internal clinical peer review process in collaboration with agency supervisors and directors.
- Maintain current knowledge of Washington State Service Encounter Reporting Instructions (SERI), RCWs, WACs, and other regulatory standards to ensure compliance with documentation, qualifications, timeframes, and procedures.
- Provide clinical review and follow-up for critical incident reporting, identifying potential risk/liability concerns, and tracking trends for early intervention.
- Manage complaints and grievances, conducting reviews and follow-ups as necessary.
- Participate in Quality Assurance Committee activities, including thorough record reviews following critical incidents.
- Support new lines of business by determining clinical quality and contract compliance auditing needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field.
EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in behavioral healthcare and/or Substance Use settings with administrative or clinical responsibilities.
LICENSURE: Washington Professional License or eligibility to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Expert (established subject matter expert, 7 years of experience)
Experience managing organizational risk and liability issues
