School Based Therapist Shield Program – Full-Time
Hiring Range: $29.58 per hour - $36.97 per hour
$3,000 sign-on bonus*

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced School-Based Therapist to join our Shield Program at Bremerton High School. This role involves providing on-going behavioral and therapeutic support for children enrolled in the program, contributing to a positive and supportive school environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Meet with referred students to assess needs and make appropriate referrals, such as primary care, mental health counseling, and substance abuse treatment.
- Provide brief intervention, crisis intervention, and trauma support as necessary.
- Offer in-school voluntary family, individual, and group counseling utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
- Collaborate with school district personnel to implement plans supporting students.
- Participate in interventions to encourage students to follow school expectations.
- Provide immediate therapeutic crisis interventions and one-to-one interventions as necessary.
- Partner with families to build stronger relationships with the school system and access appropriate resources.
- Conduct family meetings, provide outreach to family homes, and connect families with additional resources.
- Organize and implement social skills and therapeutic groups for enrolled students.
- Support ongoing operations, including organizing supplies, stocking the program's kitchen, and coordinating school activities.
- Document client progress according to established policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field.
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
Experience working with children within the structure of an intensive, milieu based program.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
Per the RCW 28A.400.303, employees of contractors with school districts that “have regularly scheduled unsupervised access to children” are required to go through FBI fingerprinting.
Food Handler’s Permit is required for Madrona, preferred for Sequoia Program and Restorative School.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Intermediate (minimum 3 years of job-related experience)
Experience working with Special Education population strongly preferred.
Educational or classroom management experience preferred.
The capacity to work well with children and families.
Child Mental Health Specialist qualification preferred.
