Today, Kittson Healthcare is a twelve-bed acute care federally designated Critical Access Hospital and fifty bed long term care facility which also includes a home healthcare agency, 8 bed assisted living facility and an ambulance service. There is a medical clinic located in the complex as well as a satellite medical clinic in Karlstad, Minnesota. JOB SUMMARY:
Life of an EMT, you will play a vital role in delivering critical care to patient in remote areas. In this role, you'll responded to emergency calls, provide pre-hospital care, and stabilize patients while in route to healthcare center. working in rural areas, you will encounter diverse medical situations that require quick thinking, resourcefulness, and high level of adaptability. In this role the ability to manage crisis situations, transportation, and work collaboratively with others to ensure high quality care for the community.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Proficiently be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to interact with both patients and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, including vital signs, monitoring, basic life support (BLS), and trauma care.
- Familiarity with use of emergency medical equipment.
- Strong critical thinking skills to respond quickly and effectively.
- Ability to operate emergency vehicles and navigate rural areas under various weather and road conditions.
- Proven physical endurance and strength to handle lifting or physically demanding situations.
- Ability to stay calm and focused in high-stress and unpredictable stations.
- Maintain comprehension of regulatory standards and ethical practices.
- Commitment and engaging in continuing education to stay informed of the industry developments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid MN EMT license.
- 1-year general emergency medical services experience (nice to have).
- Must pass MN background check and fingerprinting.
- Complete TB test within the first 3 weeks of employment.
JOB SCHEDULE/LOCATION(S):
- Hallock, MN and surrounding Kittson County area
- Flex working 0-48 hours bi-weekly
- Shifts are on call working 20 units per year
- Emergency Medical Services and Hospital setting
