The Assistant Buyer provides administrative support to the buyers and buying operations manager.

The Assistant Buyer provides administrative support to the buyers and buying operations manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for buying team, including taking phone calls and responding to store communication and vendor requests
- Research, organize, and communicate information
- Accurately input information regarding orders and inventory management
- Assist with retail replenishment
- Maintain pertinent contact information for suppliers and vendors
- Adapt to the needs of the buying team and respond to ad hoc requests relevant to the role
- Assist with inventory processing and retail operations
- Administrative office experience
- Experience buying in a retail environment strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor degree preferred
- Mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong experience in retail
- Self-starter and willingness to learn
- Attention to detail and thorough follow-up
- Can work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- PC Computer Skills: Microsoft Windows, Outlook and Excel proficiency required
- Capacity to learn new software quickly
