What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Technician position at Kituwah Technologies?
Low Voltage Cable Technician Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret general system layouts from blueprints
- Provide service call and instruction to the end users.
- Ability to self-manage and follow concise instructions
- Able to communicate with colleagues and supervisors
- Able to meet deadlines
- Able to meet customer expectations
- Produce a high quality of work
- Complete installation for access control systems including cable, device terminations, Door Strikes, Card Readers, Mag Locks, Motion Detectors, etc.
- Responsible for installing, terminating and testing Cat6 Data, SM & MM Indoor & Outdoor Fiber Optic Cable.
- Install data racks, cabinets, cable trays, sleeves, patch panels, wire managers etc in telecommunication rooms per BICSI standards.
- Install firestopping
- Removal and demolition of abandoned cables.
- Work from all size ladders, scaffolding, scissor/aerial lifts & bucket trucks.
- Terminate fiber optic cabling using connectors & fusion splicer.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair damaged fiber
- Test and certify fiber installations using fluke OTDR and powered meter
Qualifications:
- 2 years commercial and/or industrial low voltage experience
- BICSI, NICET, ESA & OSHA Certifications are a PLUS but NOT required
- Must Pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen
- Possess a Valid Driver’s License
- Have Reliable Transportation
- Must have own hand tools and basic testers
- Working knowledge of telecom, data & fiber networks
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
