Maintenance Shop Foreman

The maintenance shop foreman at Kivi Bros Trucking, is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of the company’s fleet of trucks and equipment at our Harrodsburg, KY terminal. This role is critical to ensuring the trucks are safe, compliant with regulations, and operationally efficient.

· Manage and supervise shop technicians and mechanics.

· Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure efficient workflow in the shop.

· Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs.

· Diagnose complex mechanical issues and provide solutions.

· Manage parts inventory, order supplies, and maintain tools and equipment.

· Monitor stock levels and minimize downtime due to parts shortages.

· Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and vehicle inspections.

· Use fleet management software (TMT) to track vehicle status and repair history.

· Coordinate with drivers, fleet managers, and dispatchers to address vehicle issues promptly.

· Provide updates on repair timelines and prioritize urgent requests.

· Train and mentor shop staff on new technologies, tools, and procedures.

· Evaluate staff performance and identify areas for improvement.

· Maintaining shop, yard and terminal.

· Ability to conduct FMCSA annual DOT inspections

· Familiarity with fleet management and maintenance software (TMT)

· Experience managing a team and fostering collaboration.

· Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adhere to deadlines.

· Aptitude for diagnosing complex mechanical problems and finding efficient solutions.

· Ability to clearly convey information to staff, drivers, and management.

· Previous experience and knowledge of diesel equipment maintenance, diagnostics, repair and process improvement

· Five or more years of experience in maintenance operations, preferably in the transportation and logistics industry

· Five or more years of progressive management/leadership experience

· Forklift certification, preferred

· Class A or B CDL license preferred.
