POSITION SUMMARY
Founded in 1917, the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham (KCOB) works to build a stronger community through service, uniting a diverse group of business, civic and community leaders to move Birmingham forward. The Director of Membership Services/Accounting is responsible for day-to-day support of the Club's membership, including accounts receivable, maintaining and updating member files, and increasing membership engagement. In addition to these responsibilities, other responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the Club’s Executive Director. This part-time role requires proficiency in Intuit Quickbooks Online.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages Club and Foundation A/R by actively engaging with members to ensure timely invoicing and payment remittance.
- Identifies accounts with outstanding invoices and contacts members to resolve past due balances.
- Generates regular financial reports.
- Assists Membership Development Committee by helping sponsors and their new members navigate through the process of applying for membership to becoming actively engaged members.
- Manages the membership software system, staying up to date on software changes and assisting staff and members with using it.
- Maintains all membership records and master office calendar.
- Produces regular attendance and membership reports.
- Serves as coordinator for weekly Tuesday meetings and special events.
- Manages inventory of office supplies
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Associate’s degree, preferred
- 1-3 years experience in accounts receivable/ accounting/ collections, preferred
- Experience in customer service, preferred
- Supervisory experience, preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Capacity to also work as a team leader and team member
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, as well as membership data software systems and Intuit Quickbooks Online
- Strong organizational skills to self-manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time position, 25 hours per week reporting to the Executive Director in the Harbert Center in Birmingham, AL. This is NOT a remote position.
