We’re looking for a Database Administrator to be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
\n- Administer, maintain, and optimize AWS Aurora databases, including backup and recovery, security, and high availability configurations.
- Monitor and analyze database performance metrics, including slow queries, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Upgrade from Aurora 5.7 to the latest 8.x version.
- Tune SQL queries and stored procedures to optimize performance and ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
- Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to detect performance issues, bottlenecks, and potential security threats.
- Work closely with development teams to assist in database design, schema creation, and the implementation of best practices.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as indexing, partitioning, and archiving data.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including query optimization, deadlocks, and connection issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on AWS Aurora.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database tuning, including query optimization and stored procedure tuning.
- Strong understanding of AWS services, including Aurora, EC2, S3, and IAM.
- Experience with database monitoring tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic.
- Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures, including point-in-time recovery.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and experience implementing database encryption and access controls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Salary : $110,000 - $170,000
