Audit Senior – Public Accounting | San Diego, CA

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 base salary full time benefits

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to reporting

  • Review audit work performed by staff to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Prepare detailed reports and provide key financial insights to clients

  • Research and analyze technical accounting issues to offer strategic guidance

  • Build strong client relationships and identify business improvement opportunities

  • Participate in training, mentorship, and leadership development

  • Manage project budgets, deadlines, and engagement deliverables

  • Achieve monthly and annual charge hour goals

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

  • CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam

  • 2 years of audit experience in public accounting

  • Solid understanding of US GAAP & GAAS

  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in audit software, including CCH ProSystem fx, CCH Axcess, ProStaff, and Teammate Analytics

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Willingness to commit to 55 hours per week during peak seasons

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ERISA audits and audits under the Uniform Guidance

  • Familiarity with internal controls and risk assessments

  • Ability to provide business advisory insights
