Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher for Adults to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging English language instruction to adult learners of varying proficiency levels. The teacher will foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that helps students develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills for personal, academic, and professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct engaging classroom instruction and facilitate learning activities for adult ESL students.
- Develop lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student learning goals.
- Assess students' language proficiency and track progress through evaluations and assessments.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of adult learners.
- Create a positive, interactive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Integrate real-life and cultural contexts into lessons to enhance language acquisition.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to help students improve their English skills.
- Utilize various instructional strategies, including multimedia, group work, and hands-on activities.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and performance reports.
- Collaborate with colleagues and program coordinators to improve instructional strategies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching ESL to adult learners preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency in integrating technology and multimedia resources into instruction.
- Patience, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and instructional design
- Ability to manage classrooms effectively and provide tutoring support
- Bilingual proficiency and knowledge of literacy education are a plus
