POSITION OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Team Member reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for warehousing and distribution work at the organization’s warehouse facility. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
JOB DUTIES
- Handle receiving, shipping, packing, distribution and storage of all freight, product, and supplies
- Receipt of inventory (including returns of defective parts) documented and forwarded to the Warehouse Supervisor
- Proper storage of skids and other shipping supplies / materials
- Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse and office as instructed
Proper disposal of crates and packaging as necessary
Process sales orders and ship spare parts according to the established procedures, FIFO principal and in adherence of delivery schedulesComplete order paperwork including but not limited to signed will call documents and order verification checklist
Follow all government safety and regulatory policiesMaintain strict control over inventory levels and report discrepancies immediatelyMaintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and / or hazardous materialsConduct weekly spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, and equipmentReport lost or damaged shipments and other matters to the Warehouse SupervisorProcess after hours emergency orders based on alternating on call schedule (currently not implemented but will need to be)Optimize warehouse layout and space requirementsAdhere to organizations policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environmentOBJECTIVES : GENERAL, COMMON AND OVERALL
Maintain accurate stock, in good condition and according to FIFOLoading and unloading operations in the inventoryAdhere to the correct and safe method of loading and unloading goods as defined by OSHARecord all goods entering and leaving the inventoryChecking the condition of the goods when they arrive, note and report any kind of damageAdhere to the established daily, weekly and monthly proceduresWork according to ISO processes and procedurePERSONAL SKILLS
Good knowledge of warehouse process and its documentationGood conflict resolution skills, diplomacy and tactGood communication skills, written and verbalRequires a lot of physical stamina due to the loading and unloading workAbility to properly execute manual lifting of 50 pounds
High level of proficiency operating power tools and adhering to necessary safety measures associated with their use and storageExposure to a noisy environment and outside weather conditionsAbility to work with some supervisionSelf-Starter, willing to work-through and seek answers to ongoing, new requirementsGood working knowledge of FedEx shipping software as well as all standard MS office products (Outlook, Excel and Word), QuickBooks is a plusMINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, forklift certification and at least 2 years’ experience in the areas of warehousing, transportation and inventory control.
