Pay Range:
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education and experience as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Salary: $53,000 - $67,000 DOE

Why This Role is Critical
We are seeking a highly motivated Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team. This performance-driven role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing and supporting critical accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter who is eager to learn and contribute to team success. As the Payroll Specialist, you will manage the payroll process, prepare key reports, and collaborate with other departments to maintain organized and accurate payroll records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Payroll Processing: Accurately and timely process employee payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Payroll Record Management: Track and update employee payroll records, including handling 403b submissions and ensuring proper documentation.
- Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare and generate payroll reports in Excel to support GL accountants. Assist in the monthly reconciliations of payroll and benefit accounts.
- Data Entry & Documentation: Ensure payroll entries are recorded accurately in accounting systems. Maintain well-organized payroll files and records.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless operations and timely execution of tasks.
- Employee Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and assist with payroll-related issues or questions.
- Process Improvement: Contribute ideas for enhancing payroll systems and workflows, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
What You Bring to the Table
- Payroll Knowledge: Solid understanding of payroll processes (training will be provided).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, with the ability to create and organize reports effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with team members and employees.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a willingness to learn and support others.

What You Need to Succeed
- Some college coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in payroll accounting or office systems is beneficial.
- Familiarity with accounting software and tools like ADP is helpful, though not required.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with staff, clients, and community partners.
