SCHEDULE:
6.5-hours per day
RATE OF PAY:
$16.07 per hour

KLAMATH LEARNING CENTER:
KLC is an alternative high school serving the Klamath Falls City Schools. KLC provides students the opportunity to successfully complete their high school diploma or GED requirements. KLC uses an online teaching platform for the majority of its student instruction.
KLAMATH HOME LEARNING ACADEMY:
KHLA is an alternative K-8 program serving the Klamath Falls City Schools. KHLA offers synchronous and asynchronous options.
FUNCTION:
To assist the classroom teacher and building administrator in supporting the educational needs of students with diverse learning needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain accurate records, schedule meetings, and gather information to support student progress within the scope of District special education policies and state and federal laws;
Set up, maintain, and attend Google Meetings with students under teacher direction;
Assist teacher in instructional setting with instructional support and classroom management;
Implement planned activities using teacher-designed methods and materials for individual and small groups for instructional support, including those with special needs;
Assist teacher in recording students’ progress including logging support meeting dates and times;
Assist students on computers or Chromebooks and with various computer programs and testing programs;
If needed, supervise a variety of student activities including cafeteria, bus loading and unloading, field trips, hallways and other areas where students gather;
Prepare and provide support to teacher for instructional materials using various office equipment, resource materials, and AV equipment, copying, faxing, etc;
Communicate effectively with teachers and students including logging all emails on Synergy;
Assist in the assessment of student performance levels;
Assist in the instructions of individual and groups of students as related to students’ IEP goals;
Assist in the development and maintenance of work experience sites;
Assist in the application of student management procedures;
Assist in the recording and maintaining of student performance data;
Assist in the preparation of instructional and other materials;
Perform organizational and clerical tasks as assigned;
Communicate clearly and make independent decisions within established policies and procedures;
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships;
Participate as an effective team member;
Participate in professional growth activities;
Comply with district’s rules and policies;
Perform physical requirements unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodations;
Perform job-related tasks as designated by teacher;
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
AA degree, two years of full-time college or a passing grade on the paraprofessional exam;
Ability to organize and communicate effectively;
Ability to follow directions and learn new procedures;
Ability to provide care for student’s physical needs;
Ability to project a friendly and supportive attitude;
Ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid training certification;
Attend NVCPI Training;
Ability to learn and follow delegable medical procedures;
Proven work ethic;
Successful completion of Oregon School based fingerprinting and criminal history verification as deemed by State of Oregon legislation.
