Staffed by a comprehensive team of over 50 health professionals and over 100 support personnel, KHP is the second-largest healthcare provider in the Klamath Basin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls, take messages, schedule appointments, and call patients for sooner appointments when needed.
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently check them in.
- Interview patients to gather and record demographic and insurance information.
- Process payments from individual or commercial insurance companies.
- Verify patient coverage and obtain benefit information from insurance companies.
- Explain clinic regulations, including hours, payment of accounts, and charges.
- Schedule and confirm office appointments and reschedule as necessary.
- Monitor no-shows and cancellations.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Have the ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Have the ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Possess knowledge of modern office equipment, systems, and procedures.
- Apply general rules, regulations, and policies to specific work situations.
- Possess the tact necessary to deal effectively with patients, physicians, and employees.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree; one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a dental clinic or front office environment, preferred.
- Bilingual, Spanish-speaking, preferred.
- CPR/First Aid/BLS certification, preferred.

The employee is expected to work Monday through Friday, with a various schedule between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and will be called upon to work extended hours and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. from time to time. While performing this job's duties, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, bend, lift, carry, write, and hear. The employee frequently must stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
