KHP is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physician Assistant to join our team and contribute to the health and well-being of our diverse patient population.
Position Summary: The Physician Assistant will perform primary care and health promotion services under the supervision of a physician. This role involves direct patient care, including preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, as well as chronic disease management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including preventive care, primary diagnosis, and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.
- Monitor and provide appropriate treatment for chronic disease management in consultation with a physician.
- Perform or order appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests.
- Obtain consultations or referrals for patient services not provided by the clinic.
- Serve as a preceptor to providers in training as needed.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to established clinic protocols for timely documentation in medical records.
- Conduct health education activities for individuals and groups.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and all clinic safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Completion of MSN and Physician Assistant program.
- Current, valid license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon, including DEA license and CPR certification.
- Relevant and substantial knowledge of health center licensing and operations, especially within an FQHC environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
- Sensitivity to the needs of a culturally diverse patient and employee population.
- Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Pleasant, professional attitude towards patients, customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Strong teamwork skills.
Physical Demands and Accommodations:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours and Saturdays.
- Regularly required to walk, talk, bend, lift, carry, write, and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
