What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist (Full-Time) position at Klamath Hospice and Palliative Care?
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for maintaining payroll systems and processing payroll accurately and in a timely manner, according to agency policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:
- Processes payroll for employees to include reviewing, entering, and maintaining accurate records to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates such as new hires, terminations, benefits, pay rates, tax withholdings, garnishments, address changes, etc.
- Prepares 403(b) related information to include employee contributions, employer matching contribution, and on-line breakdown and payment.
- Tracks and compiles employees PTO and/or sick leave.
- Reviews and prepares information related to employee reimbursements.
- Works closely with the Human Resources Department to ensure accurate employee data.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis.
- Addresses employee queries relating to payroll issues.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.
- Proficiency with automated payroll systems such as ADP; knowledge of QuickBooks desirable.
- Experience in payroll taxes and payroll tax reporting.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with an aptitude in problem solving.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner with accuracy and thoroughness.
- Ability to respond well to supervision and to work independently when appropriate.
- Capacity to work well with other employees to foster a respectful and professional work and customer service-based environment.
