Klamath Orthopedic Clinic is looking for a MRI Scheduler.
Summary: Under the supervision of the MRI Scheduling Supervisor/Clinical Office Manager, the MRI Scheduler performs a variety of duties necessary for the courteous and efficient servicing of patients. Qualified candidates will be primarily responsible for all MRI scheduling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Answer a large volume of phone calls from patients and referring physicians.
- Answer all incoming phone calls in a professional manner. Accurately take messages for radiologist or route calls as needed.
- Accurately take short history from patient on the nature of the appointment, free of any spelling or grammatical errors.
- Know the preparation and protocols for each exam being scheduled.
- Accurately, appropriately, and efficiently schedule patients for MRI/CT scans upon request from referring physician.
- Reviewing medical histories, current allergies and medications, safety screen patients for contraindications of MRI procedures.
- Proficient in MRI terminology for procedures and diagnosis.
- Immediately contact radiologist with any STAT request for referring physician and works to schedule patient.
- Creates patient charts accurately and collects required demographic and clinical information. Advises patient of insurance authorization and referral requirements.
- Request medical records/clinical notes from referring physicians as needed for authorization/collections.
- Check-in patients for procedures, screen, change and room for technologist.
- Maintains the strictest patient and personal confidentiality and follows HIPPA guidelines.
