SALARY: Currently $49,638.36-$92,138.12 (DOE), still being negotiated for 2025-2026

Description:
The teacher is the primary instructional delivery person in the classroom. The teacher instructs professional technical education classes in the area of engineering following Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Curriculum. Professional development around the PLTW curriculum will be required. The teacher supervises student activities related to engineering so that students develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to begin to master the engineering design process.
The teacher must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be well trained, or become well trained, in content knowledge and teaching strategies. The teacher must be current in their knowledge of basic engineering skills, the engineering design process, robotics, and simple coding (VEX).

Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive and effective classroom management for students.
- Plan effective and appropriate daily lessons and unit plans incorporating industry as well as school wide initiatives (i.e. reading and writing across the curriculum).
- Be trained, or become trained, as a PLTW Engineering Curriculum Instructor.
- Effectively collaborate with your district PLC (professional learning community and/or department).
- Teach occupational knowledge and skills for a variety of settings in the fields of engineering and robotics.
- Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
- Follows specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and district.
- Actively participates with Southern Oregon Education Service District and Regional CTE Director.
- Actively partners with KCC, Oregon Tech, other post-secondary institutions in Oregon, to create seamless transitions for students.
- Work with building administration to offer courses as needed in the program and building master schedule.
- Maintain a CTSO and/or classroom budget with a positive balance and maintain and turn in all associated records in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain a robust and energetic advisory committee and meet with them no less than once per semester.
- Be willing to serve as a CTSO advisor and attend district sectional, state and national student competitions as an advisor.
- Selects and requisitions required instructional equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Ensures that all classroom and storage facilities are maintained, secured, and safe.
REQUIREMENTS:
Hold an Oregon CTE Engineering teaching endorsement, or the ability to obtain one.
