Salary: Currently $49,638.36-$92,138.12 (DOE), prorated based upon FTE, still being negotiated for 2025-2026
Insurance: Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2202 (based upon family coverage), prorated based upon FTE, TBD for 2025-2026
PERS Retirement: The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

Position Overview:
Klamath Union High School seeks a dynamic, energetic Health Occupations Teacher to continue grow our CTE program. This role involves planning and teaching Health Occupations courses, collaborating with the local medical community, and offering students real-world work-based learning experiences. The ideal candidate will bring industry experience, a passion for education, and a commitment to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Health Occupations courses in alignment with Oregon CTE standards.
- Collaborate with local medical providers to ensure curriculum relevance and provide work-based learning opportunities.
- Advise the Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA) program.
- Establish high standards for academic performance, professionalism, and employability.
- Work closely with district colleagues and local health professionals to build a robust, community-oriented program.
Qualifications:
- Experience or college training in health sciences or healthcare-related fields (required).
- Recent health occupations industry experience (preferred).
- Oregon CTE Health Occupations Teacher License or ability to obtain post-hire (required).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage classrooms effectively and promote student self-discipline.
- Experience networking with community organizations to create field experiences (preferred).
Other Details:
- Work hours: 7:45 am to 11:50 am (class from 8:05 am to 10:55 am).
- Focus on teaching health occupations classes that align with local community needs and teacher expertise.
