Position Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join a dynamic healthcare team in Nantucket, MA. The ideal candidate will perform routine and specialized laboratory testing in a high-quality, patient-focused environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting diagnostic services and delivering accurate and timely results to clinicians.
Schedule:
- Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
- Days: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (3x12-hour shifts)
Minimum Qualifications:Education & Certification:
- Associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
- MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent registration (AMT, HEW) required
Experience & Skills:
- Proficient in clinical laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality control techniques
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to patient safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized testing on blood, body fluids, and other specimens
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation in accordance with quality assurance standards
- Accurately document test results and maintain records in the laboratory information system
- Monitor and manage inventory of reagents and supplies
- Adhere to all laboratory protocols, safety guidelines, and accreditation standards
- Participate in proficiency testing and continuing education as required
